The article proposes an original analysis of scientific cognition principles as a means of constructing a theory: understanding principles in history of philosophy, present day approaches to their understanding and studying, the most meaningful classifications, explanation of the essence of scientific cognition principles and their purpose as regulatory means of theory designing. Innovation is present in classifying principles of theory design, in interpretation of their essence, in analyzing their structure, functions and finding meanings for theory design.Nikolay I.
