Sumario:Abstract. The contents of peripheral blood cells expressing activation markers are increased in patients with gastrointestinal malignancies, mostly in cases of gastric cancer. An association is revealed between the immunological parameters and histopathological features. Absolute contents of lymphocytes with CD71+ and HLA-DR+ phenotype, showing a significantly correlation with most pathological parameters of gastric tumors, may be considered as an informative marker of tumor progression at pre-surgical step.
