Sumario:As urban spaces, roads as the places that people spent their lives’ significiant part, became more and more importance related to the increasing population and vehicle possessiveness. As dynamic spaces as always, roads must be considered in urban design area. In the cities which were formed without ecological planning and design approaches, lots of problems problems related to health quality emerge. Planting has siginficiant importance on constituting more livable places. Especially in big cities, road planting offers some important contributions in terms of; organizing urban landscape, urban health and traffic technic, while establishing tarnsportation areas. Road trees constitute an important part of urban green areas. The aim of this study is to investigate and evaluate the road planting of 1071 Malazgirt Boulevard in terms of the functions mentioned above. In this study, planting of the boulevard which holds a significiant traffic load in Ankara City will be investigated in terms of landscape architecture; the technical problems and planning problems will be determined and some solution proposals will be develop to minimize problems. Besides this, tree species which were chosen for planting and the relationships of the trees with apparent structural elements and urban furnitures. In this context, selection of the tree species, free space around roots, canopy heights, heights, relationsips with road, sidewalks and street furnitures, distances between trees have been investigated. At the end of the evaluation a number of technical problems have been observed. To solve these problems, some revisions on road planting have been suggested; besides this some proposals have brought forward on road planting in terms of planning, design and management.
