Sumario:Among the documentary files of Bouvard et Pécuchet, kept at the Municipal Library of Rouen and available online, in free access, thanks to the electronic edition directed by Stéphanie Dord-Crouslé (ENS Lyon, CNRS), a set of reading notes, taken from the Traité des arts céramiques et des potteries by Alexandre Brongniart, holds interest. Indeed, these manuscripts by Flaubert, preserved under the number g226, 1, fol. 139-144v, have never been the subject of a critical study: the clues contained therein will obviously contribute to the development of the scene of L’Éducation sentimentale where Frédéric visits the Arnoux factory and witness the different processes of shaping objects.
