As a result of the need for lightening each environment, a vital qualification the light, is a need for lightening museums and art galleries, too. To see and perceive this kind of places well by the visitors, to comprehend visual experiences permanently in mind is the most important factor for these places. The places, museums and art galleries, in which the light is determiner for the objects to be seen in exhibition, have a comfortable environment for the visitors on the one hand; but on the other hand some precautions should be taken in order not to damage the works. Here, there is a problem whether to use natural or artificial light source for the lightening of the area. From these two lights, it is significant to identify which light source presents a better visuality and which damages less. This work in which scan model was used, an evaluation for the lightening of museums and art galleries was made and it was researched the preference of natural or artificial light source in these places.
