To this end, both teachers and administrators were asked to rank the qualities of administrators in effective schools. Results of the rankings were analyzed comparatively. Study group comprises 34 school administrators and 229 elementary school teachers who worked the province of Kilis in the academic year 2011-2012. 10-item form called “Evaluation of administrators qualities in effective schools” was used as data collection instrument. First, the above mentioned form was given to participants of the study. Participants were asked to think of all qualities of administrators at the same time and rank them by comparing to each other. Scaling technique was used to analyze the data. According to the study results, teachers and administrators’ ranking of administrators’ qualities coincide largely. Thus, according to both groups the most important qualities are as follows: “Providing opportunity for common goal establishment”, “Facilitating the enhancement of workplace quality” and “Providing instructional leadership and support in all issues regarding education”. " Rewarding every kind of success in school" and "expecting teachers and students to be very successful" were ranked the last. There were differences in the teachers and administrators rankings regarding other qualities of administrators in effective schools.Metin ÖZKANH.İsmail ARSLANTAŞFırat Universityarticleeffectivenesseffective schoolseffective administratorsadministrators’ qualitiesscaling basedSocial SciencesHSocial sciences (General)H1-99DEENFRTRJournal of Academic Social Science Studies , Vol 7, Iss 26, Pp 181-193 (2019)
