Sumario: | This research aims to identify the kinds of music that middle school students (5th,6th, 7th, 8th Grade) listen to.The research was designed based on a baseline descriptive survey method.The answers that students give to when they listen to music most is categorized based on Parott's (2001) emotional state classification in psychology on primary emotional states. Primary emotional states comprises love, joy, surprise, anger, sadness, fear. The sample of the study are from Mardin, Tokat, İzmir, Evren Paşa Middle School students (N=608). The cities are chosen in order to reach students with a variety of different level of socio-economical development. This choice is made using maximum variation sample method and regarding there portentitled'The Research of Gradation of Socio-economical Development in the Cities and Regions' of the General Directorate of Regional Development and Constitutive Compatibility of Turkey (2011). The data has been analyzed and visualized through a variety of graphics that have been formed detecting the frequency (f) and the percentage (%) of the data obtained. At the end of the research open and close ended responses are received detecting that students prefer Turkish Pop-Rock Music most, that according to Parrott's emotional states, they listen to music in joy states, that the most listen to singer 'Arsız Bela' in the style that does not exist in literature but can be explained as 'Arabesque-Rap'. |
