Sumario:The modern Russian model of the pension system has developed as result of the pension reform carried out in 2002, incorporating insurance principles for the formation of a pension and a funded component. In 2004, further pension reform determined the possibility of managing the funded pension. The results of the reform are contradictory and cause a lot of controversy, but the undoubted result is the emergence of new institutional players in the collective investment market and a new segment of the financial market. 2017 was the sixteenth year since the beginning of the radical reforms of the Russian pension system.
