Sumario:The article argues for the thesis that the impertinent citizen - likewise the shameless and unashamed citizen - is an ambivalent figure. Democratically, he seems to be as necessary as he is dangerous. He presents himself on both the progressive and rthe reactionary side, in sophisticated provocative political actions and in yelled abuse against the establishment, in demonstrative demands and in demonstrative contesting of minority rights, in the courageous defence of civil society and in the vulgarity of poitical-cultural proles.
