The municipality is located in a region where the production of grain (mainly soybean cultivation) is present in a large part of agricultural production units. In order to deepen the understanding of the dynamics of agricultural municipality case study was conducted, using the methodology of diagnosis of agrarian systems (DSA), which allowed, in the first part of the study, the city was divided in three micro homogeneous. The analysis of this study focuses on micro identified as the third. The micro-region 3 was chosen from the study of agrarian evolution of the municipality that identified the area as a representative of grain production and offering direct influence on production systems practiced by family farmers.As a result, evidence of three main types of production units differentiated by production systems adopted, "grain"; "soy+milk"; "soy+milk+pig". The next step deepened the technical-economic analysis of production systems where there was intrinsic elements to grain that interfere with the reproductive capacity of families. From these analyzes, it was found that grain production has limitations for rural development, especially when it comes to a region whose land stratification is characterized by production units with small areas.
