Various approaches to the definition of the term “service” and “public service” are presented, a statistical analysis of the system for the provision of public services in electronic form is carried out and the mechanism for the implementation of public services of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation is described. The purpose of the study is to determine the main directions of development of electronic public services in the agricultural sector based on SWOT analysis. The scientific novelty is in the proactive approach to the implementation of public services in electronic form.
