Secondary lymphoid organ fibroblastic reticular cells mediate trans-infection of HIV-1 via CD44-hyaluronan interactions
Fibroblastic reticular cells (FRCs) are important regulators of T cell survival, proliferation, and migration in secondary lymphoid organs, but their role in HIV infection isn’t studied. Here, Murakami et al. show that FRCs enhance HIV spread via CD44- and hyaluronan-mediated trans-infection.
