Sumario:In this research, the aim was the determination of hopelessness levels of teachers employed in special education schools according to various variables. The study was realized with 88 teachers that are employed in special education schools bound to Erzurum provincial directorate for national education in 2012-2013 academic years. In the research, scanning method among descriptive methods was used. In collection of the research data, Beck Hopelessness Scale which was developed by Beck in 1974 and was adapted to Turkish in 1991 by Seber and personal information form prepared by the researcher was used. The obtained data was analyzed in SPSS 20.0 package program by frequency and percentage calculations, application of statistical operations such as t test and one way analysis of variance (ANOVA). According to data obtained from the research it was determined that special education teachers have medium level of hopelessness. It was determined that there is not a significant relation between hopelessness of special education teachers and age, marital status, education level and length of service variables and that there is a significant difference between employed school and gender variables of special education teachers and their hopelessness levels.
