Its focus is to analyze the daughters’ ideas about their families and languages, and therefore, how they categorize their mothers and how their mothers categorize themselves. The contents of the conversations carried out at the school as well as outside, between girls and between girls and their mothers, will be analyzed. The results will be related to previous studies about language socialization, categorization and construction of identity.
