Sumario:This article focuses on the world erte taking place eleven times in Altun Yaruk. Altun Yaruk is one of important works belonging to Uighur Turks. It is among basic books clarifing the social and cultural life of term. In addition to it is a rich source points of historical progress and vocabulary of Turkish language. So every word taking place in the text, is a study matter in itself. When the examples are analysed carefully it is clear that there are two forms of erte in the book in point of structure. The first is formed by adding +te locative suffix to the er (=erken) nominal root. The second is gained by adding -e gerund suffix to the ert- (=geçmek, işlemek, devam ettirmek) verbal root. As a result of the review it is understood that the word erte has different meanings and functions and it is illustrated that erte is used as a preposition in Old Uighur Turkish.
