Although the first list of books made in what is now Venezuela is the “Inventory” of Juan de Eulate (1633), the first bibliographer to record authors from Caracas –in the territory of what would later become Venezuela– was Juan José de Eguiara y Eguren in his Bibliotheca mexicana.
