In this research document analysis method which is one of the qualitative research design was used. The study was carried out 4th grade students chosen from 8 classes at state primary school in Amasya. The study group was consisted of 2 male and 2 female students who live with their parents and 2 male and 2 female students who stay away from their parents related to their drawing skills and attendance to the courses selected through appropriate sampling method. During 4 weeks, the students were told to draw pictures about family, happiness, fear and an experience of a day that they spent. The students drew their pictures in their free time independently without being influenced. Then, the interviews were performed with the student about their drawings. The pictures collected from the children were coded and then analyzed. The figure, color and shape criteria were used in the analysis of the drawings. Considering these criteria, the tables were established related to the each drawing of the students who live with and stay away from their parents. Related to the findings, the drawings of the two groups were interpreted and the results were reached. It was observed that there was a great difference about the drawings of the students who live with and stay away from their parents in terms of figure, color and shape. The students staying away from their parents expressed in their drawings that they need love and care, they are not happy and they have some fears. The students living with their parents implies in their drawings that they are happier, they do not experience any fear and they have courage.
