In the midst of the 1960’s, through the effect of pragmatics on language researches, text substituted for the sentence in consequence of the critics to this approach. As a result, textlinguistics as a subcategory of linguistics which basically studies on text emerged as a new scientific field. The main aim of this new field is to distinguish between the text and the one which is not a text, to manifest the terms of textuality, to create a scientific association in the classification of the text types. At this point, we cannot say that scientists achieved this goal in terms of the existence of a widely accepted definition of the text and functional typology. In this field, where the text is addressed in different approaches, linguists deal with this new field in terms of distinguishing the text and which are not a text, and some fundamental studies on the classification of text. Bühler has made considerable studies on language theory. There are some researches on functional typology of texts which base these studies on Organon Model seeing language as a tool and putting forth the framework of communication. Among the significant typologies which is constituted by the effect of above model, such as: Jacobsen, Searl and at last Brinkers’ functional typology of texts can be indicated. In our age, Brinker who has important studies on text-linguistics, conceives that studies on creating functional typology of text should be given more priority than the studies in distinguishing the “text” and “non-textual” ones.
