| Sumario: | Foreign origin items participating in vocabulary of a language in parallel social, cultural, geographic or economic variables are formed in process by evolving with society. It is seen that in different periods, these items taken with different means and reasons gain functionality by being used in accordance with recipient language rules and tendency of that society to a large extent. Loan words meeting various concepts in Turkish can be same, similar or different form the source language in terms of writing, meaning, usage area and kind of usage. By analyzing those tendencies, a part of which also depends on international factors or non-linguistic determiners, it is possible to objectify attitude of language and thereby society regarding loan words and reasons forming basis to this. And a part of samples in this context consist of West origin words that used with their genuine writings. In this study, it is aimed to specify the West origin words that maintain their genuine writings in standard language of Turkish; analyze status and general usage characteristics of these words in language relations context. For words, source language and genuine writing forms, along with Turkish Dictionary (TDK, 2011), records in Contemporary Turkish Dictionary and Dictionary of West Origin Words in Turkish that being broadcasted online in network by Turkish Language Society are used as base. Frequency of occurrence of this kind of words that are used with their genuine writings in both vocabulary and in network is evaluated, taking the data of Turkish National Corpus and a report of a search engine as a criterion. It has been made an inference about functionality of those samples and stationary of loan words in language. |
