Sumario:Trust is considered essential to the commitment and to establish relationships between companies. Furthermore, it is assumed that trust is a key precondition for cooperation. Thus, this study aims to investigate trust and transaction costs in interorganizational networks, analyzing the structure of the network of suppliers of a metallurgical company. Therefore, there was a quantitative research through a survey research. The results show the existence of a network level, with formal relations (metallurgical company and its suppliers) and informal relationships (between suppliers). Although there are ex-ante and ex-post transaction costs, network of suppliers spend more time in information and stock trading, indicating that the company invests in its relationship with other companies. In this sense, the suppliers have confidence in the metallurgical company, facilitating relationships within the network of suppliers. Thus, the theoretical and managerial contributions of the study involves the maintenance of network of suppliers and enables the development of formal and informal relationships between companies.
