Combined transport is evaluated on the basis of statistics in the Czech Republic. According to these statistics, combined transport has a rising tendency, although the potential has not been fully utilized. The article defines reasons why carriers might choose only road transport. Problems of the utilization of combined transport from the carriers´ point of view are mentioned; increased demand for organization and carriage in particular. Furthermore, it focuses on modern trends in combined transport, especially in terms of modern technologies and the utilization of informatics systems.
