This article is based on the results of research dedicated to the contemporary internationalization of architects (2013-2017). It first focuses on the representations of internationalization held by graduates of the National Schools of Architecture (ENSA) in France, and then presents a typology of architects' profiles who access various activities abroad. Finally, it describes a diversification of professional practices accentuated by their international deployment. The main tools of analysis are a questionnaire survey and semi-directive interviews conducted with practitioners, students, and institutions. They reveal that departures and circulations are mainly linked to life trajectories, to the desire to assume a social role, and to the need for personal fulfillment.Laura BrownAssociation Internationale des Sociologues de Langue FrançaisearticleprofessionarchitectsinternationalpracticestrajectoriesSociology (General)HM401-1281FRSociologies (2021)
