Controversies linked to methodological debates reveal differences in views on legitimate research activities, which in turn translate into diversified knowledge. Heterogeneous resources of social sciences knowledge used sensibly – in the Author’s opinion – would create scope for positive expression of civic attitudes and qualities, broaden the horizons of thought and action, leading people to become independent, competent and responsible members of society.
