Sumario:Translation Domesticated in the Culture of Early Polish Modernism The present article introduces the Modernist popular and instrumental model of literary translation. The most vivid examples of adapting the source texts to the aesthetic, social, cultural and ideological norms of the target culture have been found in translations of world literature into the dialect of the Polish Highlanders. They were representative of the “Young Poland” artistic and literary movement inspired by the folk culture of the Tatra Mountains.
