Two reliability analyses were conducted by using Cronbach alpha. One of the reliability analyses was estimated based on the correct answers of the students for all the three tiers together and found 0.62. The other one was estimated based on the misconceptions of the students and found 0.66. The proportions of the false positives and false negatives were estimated to establish the content validity and found 22.2 % for the false positives and 4.2 % for false negatives. A descriptive methodology was used in the study to analyze and interpret the results. It has been found that students have got misconceptions: main energy source of ecosystem, the main energy source of plants, photosynthesis and respiration, food chain, the basic organic molecule used as an energy source.Sami OLUKEsin OLUKFırat Universityarticlemisconceptions, energy, ecology, science education, threetier testsSocial SciencesHSocial sciences (General)H1-99DEENFRTRJournal of Academic Social Science Studies , Vol 9, Iss 51, Pp 97-111 (2019)
