Sumario: | The difficulties founded by the development projects in to achieve the small communities are result of macro structural plans that always tried to reflect in all sectors of base investments. The poor results of these "economic" plans reflect the impossibility of promote the development without go down to the last level, it means, all the projects of development should be followed from down to top. The local development privileges the "things of earth", or it appropriates the "local knowledge". The investments in local projects come along the beginning of this century promoting debates about the validity of macro over micro. From the native knowledge, some local projects promoted real revolutions in the social and cultural relationship. The case of Coopercuc is a reflect of the appropriation of native fruits that always were at disposition of communities and, only after a project of economic exploration, that the conditions of the associated were fortified. This article analyzed the effectiveness of cooperative in promote the social and economic gains to its associate and to the community around, preserving the nature, in direction to the freedom and welfare of all. The field research with cooperative members and
the community enabled to verify the success of the enterprise in all the dimensions: social, economic and environmental. The increase of income, the politics of nature preservation associated with the raising of self-esteem of cooperative members confirmed how the local projects are effective in the promotion of welfare of the communities. |
