On the basis of thesaurus approach the author tries to show literature as the most important type of art which can affect formation of the cultural basis in society and individual that is perceived as their own culture. In spite of a dubious situation in modern literature the author comes to the conclusion that it is necessary to retain the wish to read world literature in order to understand themselves and their place in the world.Nela M.
