Sumario:Accurate regulation of protein concentrations according to changes in cell volume that accompany growth and changes in biosynthetic capacity is an important component of cellular homeostasis. Here, using the model organism S. cerevisiae, the authors show how histone production is quantitatively coupled to genome content through the intrinsic properties of histone promoters.
