Description
Summary:The effects of strong electric fields on the spectrum of doubly excited states of He are investigated. The doubly excited states 2p2 3 P and 2s2p 3 Po are chosen as prototype states for studying these effects. The solution of the Complex Eigenvalue Schrödinger equations pertaining to these states is obtained using and appropriate partitioning of the wave function and the complex rotation method. The changes of the resonance energies and widths as a function of the external field strength are presented.
