Sumario:The appointment of indigenous in the post of the “procurador general de naturales” by the Royal Courts of Lima and Cusco since the mid-eighteenth century raises several questions. For example, which were the profile and legal culture of the elected natives and which was the impact it had on their legal performance. This article aims to analyzes the emergence of the indigenous stage of the attorney general’s office and highlights the lettered formation, while marking the difference between Cusco and Lima in indigenous legal culture and political control.
