Summary:The project for the restoration and musealization of the North Door of the Battistero di Firenze or Baptistery of Florence was started in 2012 and completed in 2015. Currently, the original one is kept inside the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo or Opera Duomo Museum. The Door is five meters high and almost three meters wide, composed of twenty-eight rectangular panels. Different entities and professional fields have collaborated on the project. In fact, 3D related technologies have been used for the activities of survey, 3D reconstruction and additive production, while the fusion of the replicas of the panels is an artisan work.
