Sumario: | The repressive instruments of the last military dictatorship in Argentina (1976-1983) have been extensively analyzed. For the control and repression of culture, key objectives of the regime, were arranged multiple agencies and a considerable state cast. This paper is based on recently "found" documents produced by agencies in charge of cultural control such as the Dirección General de Informaciones of the province of Santa Fe. It proposes a progress in the subject of study as it reveals, on the one hand, the tensions between national and local governments and shows, on the other, the circulation of directives (political-cultural guidelines) oriented to recover the moral principles and traditions. Above all we noticed the classification of crimes, the differentiation between sexual scenes, and the persecution of "subversive immoralities" that should be eliminated from the new dictatorial order. These disquisitions were not always noticed in the classic studies on the cultural repression of this period more orientated to assure that the censorship was vast and irrational. And they were less focused on explore the strategies of cultural censorship. |
