Some of the words and behaviors of the Prophet (PBUH) have been reorganized in the framework of the perceptions that have formed in time and in the direction of social practices, customs and traditions. In this article, the hadiths which composed by using misdetections how classificated in hadith collections on hadith related to drinking water while standing and effects of these misdetections on Muslims during the history was discussed. Also in this article, manner of the classification of the hadiths related to drinking water while standing in hadith collections was analyzed. After that, an attempt was made to determine whether the hadith of the Prophet. Interpretors of hadith how to interpret these hadiths was investigated by exemplifing from books of interpreting hadiths. In the process of determining the hadiths, the narrations from each stage were evaluated one by one. In this assessment; firstly the narration charts of the hadiths were formed and then the reliability of the narrators was tried to be determined by considering this chart. How hadith interpretors interpreted the related hadiths in the following periods, have been studied with some examples from hadith commentary books. In addition, they refer to the juridical clauses they have derived from these hadiths. These hadiths how were understood and interpreted in today’s World of Islam and the scientific datas how were used in hadith interpreting, was analyzed. After studying on the hadiths related drinking water in the standing and the comments of hadith scholars on these hadiths, the following conclusions were reached: The hadiths that prohibit to drinking water while standing are weak in terms of its isnads. It has been revealed that narrations related to the Prophet (PBUH) was drinking the water while sitting on the floor or on his mount or standing, are more reliable than these. As a result, the perception that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) was prohibiting to drink water while standing is not correct.
