Sumario:The authors address the problem of studying and correcting the ideas of children and adolescents with disabilities about the mental experiences of a person. The relevance of the problem is justified by the influence of ideas about the experiences and mental health of the individual on the formation of behavior aimed at preserving and strengthening mental health. The article considers a diagnostic task, a diagnostic sheet, criteria and evaluation indicators that allow monitoring the mastery of the semantics of the concept of «Experience» in mentally retarded adolescents. The dynamics of representations in different educational conditions is considered. Promising directions for the development and correction of ideas about the mental experiences of a person are proposed both for students with disabilities and for their family members.
