Sumario: | The movement of between academic and university centers on both sides of the Atlantic in the middle of the 20th century led to exchanges of ideas among the parties from the political right, which supported ideas related to authoritarian nationalism. The case of the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo becomes relevance due to the contacts it had with academic centers of the post-war Franco regime. These contacts provided the University with a series of ideological supplies and of political and historiographic positions. Starting from dynamics and research between individuals, institutions, and public policies, we can observe the modulations which Hispanism acquired as the cultural bases for the Catholic nationalism of the right. The list of intellectual biographies with academic trajectories heavily influenced by the political unrest of the period, together with the analysis of disciplinary, ideological, and political positions of its most outstanding characters, allows us to recognize common traits as well as different profiles. The modulations of Hispanism comprised a variety of aspects, from the persistence of traditional and reactionary elements of the 1940s national Catholicism, to the modernist profiles of the development projects promoted by the Franco authoritarian conservatism in the 1960s, which impacted the disciplinary developing of the social sciences and in the design of educational and cultural policies. |
