Sumario:<p><strong>Purpose</strong></p><p>The aim of the research is to demonstrate the need for the Conception<strong> </strong>of Ontology-based Sector Educational Space. This Conception could become the basis for the integration of transport sector university information resources into the open virtual network information resource and global educational space. Its content will be presented by standardized ontology-based knowledge packages for educational programs in Russian and English languages.</p><p><strong>Methodology</strong></p><p>Complex-based, ontological, content-based approaches and scientific principles of interdisciplinarity and standardization of knowledge are suggested as the methodological basis of the research.<em> </em></p><p><strong>Results</strong></p><p>The Conception of Ontology-based Sector Educational Space (railway transport), the method of the development of knowledge packages as ontologies in Russian and English languages, the Russian-English Transport Glossary as a separate ontology<em> </em>are among the expected results of the project implementation.</p><p><strong>Practical implications</strong></p>The Conception could become the basis for the open project to establish the common resource center for transport universities (railway transport). The Conception of ontology-based sector educational space (railway transport) could be adapted to the activity of universities of other economic sectors.
