Turks have adopted many religions throughout history, migrated to many geographies, and have been intertwined with societies with different socio-cultural characteristics. Despite this, the Turks did not easily abandon the characteristics of Shamanism but rather lived in the new cultural environment and religions in which they were involved. This is an indication that Shamanism is integrated with the cultural codes of the Turks and continues its influence in the collective memory. The fact that elements belonging to this religious system are still alive among the people shows that Shamanism is compatible with Turkish culture, and the elements of faith belonging to Shamanism merge with the culture over time. Shamanism inclusion in all elements of public life, from oral cultural products to social beliefs and practices is also culturally relevant in the structure of society. For this reason, it is possible to see the effects of Shamanism in individual or social productions. Elements belonging to Shamanism with esoteric and mystical side, which are influential from literary works to the style of clothing, are also used by screenwriters and directors in digital-visual media such as cinema and television series. The film “Deliler: Fatih’in Fermanı (2018)” is also one of these productions. In this study, elements of Shamanism will be examined in the film “Deliler: Fatih’in Fermanı (2018)” which describes the struggle of the Delis Military Unit in the Ottoman army with the Vlad Tepes. Besides, the extent to which the directors and screenwriters are based on Shamanism, the level of consciousness, and the role of Shamanism in fiction will be discussed.
