Sumario:The article presents the main theoretical frameworks as well as key concepts and themes that have characterized communitarianism in the course of Western thought. It discusses both commonalities and ideological differences between communitarian theories, since community is a concept that integrates ideas from different political positions. The core of communitarian thought is the principle that the community is central to a good society. This principle is an important starting point for the formulation of a paradigm that goes beyond traditional dichotomies such as statism x privatism and public x private and favors a democratic and inclusive order as well as a balance between state, community and market.
