It affects ideology, life styles of people as well as emergence and development of civilizations and involvement of states in their regions or on a global scale. Geography has a big influence on differentiation of cultures and formation of cultural boundaries. At this point geography is a determining factor in fact. Human is the most important actor and human activities are the most efficient facts in this importance of geography aforementioned. The relationship between environmental factors, personal experiences, expectations, prejudices affecting the decision making mechanism of human and related behaviour patterns and scape is examined by behavioural geography approach. This research conducted in accordance with behavioural geography approaches was carried out in order to determine the perceptions of the 2015-2016 education year students of the primary school teaching department of Fırat University on the effect of geography on human life.For this purpose, the respondents were asked the question “Is Geography a Fate?”. Three categories which are geographical factors, personal factors and social life were created and ten related themes were identified based on the answers. The opinions of participants acquired dimension in two forms. The first one is the fact that geography compels people for a compulsory acceptance. The second one is the positive reflections of human effect on geography or obtaining the desired life in despite of geography. The negative perceptions determined as a result of the research are remarkable in terms of young people's thoughts on future and world politics. Because, it is seen that they mainly think that the negative perceptions for geography do not include human effect. The study was conducted with the participation of 35 students taking the lesson of Turkey Geography and Geopolitics which allows assessing strength of geography and importance of geopolitics in Turkey and across the world. Qualitative research method, and phenomenology pattern from among qualitative research patterns were used in the survey. Data from the research was obtained with the ‘semi-structured interview form’. Content analysis was used for assessing the data. ‘Categorical analysis’ from among the types of content analysis was applied in the study. First the data was encoded in the categorical analysis.
