Sumario: | The purpose of grammar teaching is to help students acquire basic language skills accurately and completely and is to make them aware of the grammar rules which they may utilize in their daily life. The aim of this study is to assess the opinions of teachers about whether students comprehend or not the topics in elementary school Turkish grammar learning field which has been prepared according to constructivist approach or not. In this context, a research has been conducted; this research aims to help teachers to determine whether students comprehend or not the topics in elementary school Turkish grammar curriculum. A descriptive and quantitative scanning method has been applied for the study. In this study, a questionnaire consisting of two parts has been used as data collection tool. In the first part of the questionnaire there are questions regarding personal information of teachers, the grade of the class they teach and the schools they work. In the second part of the questionnaire a five-level likert-type assessment scale consisting of 46 items prepared by researchers has been used. The items “Strongly disagree”, “Do not agree”, “Undecided”, “Agree” and “Strongly agree” contained in the scale has been numbered as 1,2,3,4 and 5 respectively. Population of the research consists of Turkish language teachers actively working in all elementary schools of Siirt in the fall semester of 2012-2013 academic year. The sample consists of teachers who are selected from this population according to ease of accessibility and random sampling method. After eliminating those who have not finished the questionnaire and who have completed insensitively, the remaining 114 have been used for data collection. The cronbach alpha reliability coefficient of the questionnaire has been found to be 0.84 as a result of the reliability study conducted on collected data.
