Sumario: | The present article has the importance of understanding the cartographic procedures as part of a research project aimed at mapping the social ecological region of babassu .And treat this knowledge, not only a geographical perspective, but above all taking into account traditional knowledge that each community carries on the territories which are owned. To represent autographs in the form of maps, these communities make use of social maps to claim rights that are denied. So, in the specific case of the babassu coconut breakers, the autocartographies represent women made invisible by the State and affected by large economic enterprises and seek through the mappings report crimes against their territories as: devastation of palm trees, the increase in coal production and advancing steel mills. From this, concludes that the appropriation of social cartography of the babassu coconut breakers, represents a strategy to strengthen its organizational forms. |
