Sumario:Along the history of humanity, stories and writings about snakes are so much. Thanks to the muchness of the meanings that people attribute to snakes and generally the frequency of these meanings, this animal keeps continue the feature of being mysterious living in the present day. Snakes have existed in people’s life from mythological age to the present day and they had been symbolized as god in the mythology of many civilization. In this article, firstly information about the mythological snakes which are believed to be exist in people’s life along the history and the beliefs about these snakes is given. After giving information about the snakes and the symbolic meaning that attribute to these snakes in the religion’s history, it is mentioned about huge snakes which are called evren (evran) in Anatolia.
