Sumario:The racial issue in Brazil has been the focus of actions organized by the State and the civil society in different moment, they therefore have gone through periods of enthusiasm and silence. In this process, the Brazilian Black Movement (being MNB its Spanish nomination), has had an important role because of the pression that it has produced demanding “racial issue policies”. Besides, the movement has actively participated in political and social enviornments trying to solve discrimination and inequality matters. Although MNB has accomplished some international support as well as the support of some academy activists state actions have failed to reach the whole Brazilian society. This aspect downplays the impact of state intervention focused on equalizing economic, social and political conditions of the Black population in Brazil.
