Sumario:In Latin America as in Europe, the development of contemporary history is associated with the democratization process of the society. The object of this conference is to study the cultural dynamic, which it is affirmed today in relation with the past on the two sides of the Atlantic Ocean. One observes in particular how the memory of the conflict is a structuring element of the democratic trajectory in Spain and Latin America. One also observes how the figure of the victim seems to be more characteristic of the contemporary European culture than of Latin-Americans societies, where the political mobilizations continue to be strong, and where the representation of the history made by the heroes continues to be important.
