| Sumario: | In the global scenario, social and environmental problems are challenges that mobilize the searchfor alternatives to the current paradigm, such as social innovation and social technology. Over thetransformation of agrifood markets, short food supply chains arrise, making the connection betweenproducers and consumers. In Porto Alegre, a short food supply chain was created within seven orga-nizations of family farmers to attend the resolution of the “National School Feeding Program”, whichrequires that the total resources for school feeding of Brazilian municipalities, at least 30% should bebought from family farms. The aim of this study was to analyze the chain provider of school mealsin Porto Alegre under the perspectives of social innovation, social technology and short food supplychains. A study case was constructed, and the data collection was followed through semi-structuredinterviews, field notes and bibliographic research. The results showed that all dimensions of socialinnovation were present in the supply chain, as well as many of its elements. As a social innovation, itis in the implementation and support stage. All aspects of social technology were found in the chain.Aspects of short food supply chains helped in the process of social innovation and social technology,and brought benefits to its different actors. The resolution of the Pnae was important in the processesof social innovation and social technology, and helped the criation of this short food supply chain. |
