| Résumé: | With the goal to problematize and normalize the role of the actors of the criminal justice system in the context of mass incarceration, it was analyzed public documents used to contextualize the deaths of 2013 in Pedrinhas penitenciary complex, São Luís, by the Critical Criminology theoretical perspective. Under the methodological perspective of the Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), the performed analyzes, collated with the theories and epistemological perspectives that conduced the study, allowed to conclude that the connection between massacre and bureaucracy are what sustain the absence of outrage with the denial of rights and, consequently, with the deaths that were studied. |
