El motivo de este trabajo fue valorar la efectividad del empleo de la herramienta metacognitiva denominada V de Gowin, para la resolución de problemas de computación, con un alumno con altas capacidades. El objetivo general fue dar respuesta a las necesidades educativas del sujeto, instruyéndole en esta herramienta para potenciar y desarrollar sus competencias metacognitivas. La propuesta se fundamentó en los modelos explicativos sobre altas capacidades de Renzulli y Sternberg. La metodología fue de corte cualitativo, de investigación-acción. Se inició con la instrucción del sujeto en el procedimiento, y se le ofreció la posibilidad de que lo desarrollara y propusiera una posible adaptación, para resolver problemas del área de computación. Los resultados obtenidos indican que el colectivo con altas capacidades, necesita ser instruido en herramientas que faciliten el empleo del<span style="mso-bidi-font-style: italic;"> método de investigación, <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>manera natural como construye el conocimiento. El empleo del la V de Gowin, le ha facilitado explorar, </span>imaginar, planificar, monitorizar el proceso, autoevaluar, arriesgar intelectualmente, aportar ideas creativas considerando puntos de vista diferentes, así como tolerar la ambigüedad y el error. The main reason behind this project is the understanding of the effectiveness of the so-called Gowin’s V tool, for the solution of problems in the field of Computing for students of high learning capabilities. The proposal is based upon the methods developed by Renzulli and Sternberg. The core of our results assert that these types of students must resort to these kinds of tools since they facilitate the use of the research method, which is the natural manner to obtain new knowledge. We may sum up our conclusions stating that this tool is adaptable to the manner in which students with high learning capabilities work and, in consequence, it favors the use and development of the El motivo de este trabajo fue valorar la efectividad del empleo de la herramienta metacognitiva denominada V de Gowin, para la resolución de problemas de computación, con un alumno con altas capacidades. El objetivo general fue dar respuesta a las necesidades educativas del sujeto, instruyéndole en esta herramienta para potenciar y desarrollar sus competencias metacognitivas. La propuesta se fundamentó en los modelos explicativos sobre altas capacidades de Renzulli y Sternberg. La metodología fue de corte cualitativo, de investigación-acción. Se inició con la instrucción del sujeto en el procedimiento, y se le ofreció la posibilidad de que lo desarrollara y propusiera una posible adaptación, para resolver problemas del área de computación. Los resultados obtenidos indican que el colectivo con altas capacidades, necesita ser instruido en herramientas que faciliten el empleo del<span style="mso-bidi-font-style: italic;"> método de investigación, <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>manera natural como construye el conocimiento. El empleo del la V de Gowin, le ha facilitado explorar, </span>imaginar, planificar, monitorizar el proceso, autoevaluar, arriesgar intelectualmente, aportar ideas creativas considerando puntos de vista diferentes, así como tolerar la ambigüedad y el error. The main reason behind this project is the understanding of the effectiveness of the so-called Gowin’s V tool, for the solution of problems in the field of Computing for students of high learning capabilities. The proposal is based upon the methods developed by Renzulli and Sternberg. The core of our results assert that these types of students must resort to these kinds of tools since they facilitate the use of the research method, which is the natural manner to obtain new knowledge. We may sum up our conclusions stating that this tool is adaptable to the manner in which students with high learning capabilities work and, in consequence, it favors the use and development of the
