| Résumé: | It is known that there are numerous conceptualizations and several applications of "Social Control" which take into consideration several factors in the world, in this study it was decided to develop a conceptual systematization of the different scientific contributions available on "Social Control" in Brazil, specifically in Planning area Urban and Regional/Demography – PUR. This is a theoretical study, descriptive and exploratory, developed through an integrative literature review. The searchable databases took into account reputable journals, ranked among the best stratifications used by the Brazilian scientific institutions, and how to cut it was decided to evaluate the area of "Urban and Regional Planning/Demography – PUR". In thematic analysis were identified Theoretical Categories of Social Control that are Democracy, Citizenship and Social Management. Based on the results of theoretical concepts evaluated in Brazilian scientific publications, Social Control of society over the State is the improvement process of deliberative democracy, through the act of controlling the actions of the state in the public sphere through the effective exercise of citizenship. Its scope comprises all the channels (formal and informal) and actions taken by the society to expand the development of the local power and other scales, as well as to control the State action in the cycle of public policies. |
