In this study, reflection of irregular structure of measures to school songs is researched. Therefore, in order to define to what extend the use of odd meter songs and ballads is reflected on school music as an education and repertory material, the songs in music course books used in “music courses” were analysed. For this reason, whether the rates of using odd meter school songs and ballads have changed until today was examined by choosing one of the books used in music education in every decade since 1950s.
