Sumario:The purpose of this study is to explain Sykes-Picot Agreement in detail. Until now, there hasn’t been enough scientific research on the agreement in Turkey which is an important document for shaping Middle East in modern era. In this paper, it is focused on background and all parties of the agreement in terms of the context of crucial historical moments while comparing other scientific researches. Also, an ad-ditional place is reserved for the architects of the agreement. It is observed that the parties of Sykes-Picot Agreement, a secret agreement in the most active period of World War I, acted only for their own interests. In this context, sociocultural and so-cioeconomic structures of the region are not taken into account. It is determined that the United Kingdom having a keen interest in the region simultaneously conducted secret meetings with both Arab and French representatives and the UK ultimately did not honor its commitments by holding up Arabs leading by Sharif Hussein with ambiguous words. On the other hand, the UK took advantage of France in order to prevent Russian policy towards the South. In this framework, the UK deployed France between Russia and itself with the Sykes-Picot Agreement. Besides, the study demonstrates that the great powers of the era, such as the UK, France and Russia, did not hesitate to use local people as a cat’s paw for the sake of their regional interests. Arab, Armenian and Jewish communities appear passive components/pawns in the chess. The principal claim of the study is that the Sykes-Picot Agreement constructed a long-term chaotic order by disturbing natural balance in the region.
